Call it a lightbox, a videobox, or a mediabox, the advantages of using it are many. One that is dear to the webmasters is that the viewers don't have to leave the web page they are in.

Making it work is amazingly easy. There are a couple of free javascripts - one from the MooTools stable - that help do the trick. Some ready images and a CSS file complete the picture.
